While stressing over life woes for several months, the following bible verse continually came to me. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Many of you will recognize Psalm 23:1 (KJV). Listen to others biblical interpretations:
- The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want (NIV).
- The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need (NLT).
- God, my shepherd! I don’t need a thing (the Message).
I get it. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Yes, I finally get it. Nothing else matters; not material possessions or even human relationships; what matter is my relationship with God. This is my purpose in life—to love my God with all my heart, mind and soul.
I need to believe this. Can I live this? God, this frightens me, but I understand now that even if I lose all that I have, like Job, you will still be there and you will provide. So God, help me to believe this, to be content with my current reality and not worry about my future. Help me to live and truly believe that I have everything I need in you. Amen.
This is great stuff Tony!
